CLEC2D

CLEC2D

A gene on chromosome 12p13 that encodes the receptor for KLRB1, which binds high-molecular-weight sulfated glycosaminoglycans and protects target cells against natural killer cell-mediated lysis. CLEC2D inhibits osteoclast formation, and by extension, bone resorption, and modulates the release of interferon-gamma.
