CD317

A 29–33-kD type II transmembrane glycoprotein, which is up-regulated on most cell types after stimulation with type I interferons and interferon-gamma. It blocks release of HIV-1 and other retroviruses from infected cells, and is the natural ligand of ILT7.

Normal expression
Synovial cells, bone marrow stem cell lines, type I IFN-producing cells; highly expressed on differentiated dendritic cells.

Abnormal expression
Myeloma, renal cell carcinoma, melanoma.
