CCNT2

A gene on chromosome 2q21.3 that encodes a member of the highly conserved cyclin family, which regulates CDK kinases. Cyclin T2 and its kinase partner CDK9 are subunits of the transcription elongation factor p-TEFb, which interacts with, and acts as a negative regulator of, HIV-1’s Tat protein.
