CALB2

A gene on chromosome 16q22.2 that encodes a calcium-binding protein of the troponin C superfamily, popularly termed calretinin, which contains 6 active calcium-binding domains and plays a role in various cell functions—e.g., message targeting, intracellular calcium buffering, modulating neuronal excitability.
 
Molecular pathology
CALB2 is used as a marker of Hirschsprung disease and some cancers.
