Data for this study came from the 2010 Medicare
CAHPS survey, to which 251,346 MA beneficiaries and 157,315 FFS beneficiaries responded.
We consider three different types of within-plan correlations of
CAHPS and HEDIS disparities in this paper: (1) across measures within a given domain (
CAHPS or HEDIS), (2) across measures of different domains, and (3) across racial/ethnic groups (Figure 1).
Winners are ranked by an analysis of publicly available performance measures in quality outcomes, process measure implementation, patient experience (Home Health
CAHPS), quality improvement, and financial performance.
We also tested whether the other
CAHPS [R] variables in Table 5 that were at least moderately related to voluntary disenrollment rates added significantly to the prediction of voluntary disenrollment rates.
