Bulldozing Invasion

A popular term for a broad elephant-foot-like front of tissue invasion which is characteristic of
(1) Squamous cell carcinomas of low aggressiveness—e.g., verrucous carcinoma of the oral cavity and external female genitalia, a relatively ‘bland’ malignancy that evokes little inflammatory response, which may be underdiagnosed as verrucous or pseudoepitheliomatous hyperplasia and
(2) Liver cell—hepatocellular—carcinoma as it invades into the diaphragm and lungs, usually seen in a terminal stage of disease
