Shi, Preparation, characterization, antifungal activity, and mechanism of chitosan/TiO 2 hybrid film against
bipolaris maydis, J.
The genera
Bipolaris, Curvularia, Fusarium and Phoma have been identified in Brachiaria brizantha seeds from different fields in Mato Grosso (Mallmann et al., 2013).
Among their topics are Fusarium diseases: biology and management perspectives, powdery mildew, a lesser known pathogen of wheat:
Bipolaris sorokiniana, the occurrence and avoidance of fungicide resistance in cereal diseases, and natural anti-fungal compounds for controlling diseases in wheat and other cereals.
Besides these, other fungal species observed include Aspergillus sp., Curvularia sp., Penicillium sp., Colletotrichum sp., and
Bipolaris sp.
The genera of the fungi found in the haylages were Penicillium, Fusarium, Aspergillus, Rhizophus, and
Bipolaris, and the first two showed a higher occurrence in most haylages at different storage times (Figures 1, 2).
The four isolated fungi from clay soil samples collected in area 1, with pH 6, belonged to the Ascomycota phylum and two strains were identified as belonging to the order Pleosporales, one of them identified as genera
Bipolaris sp., and the species Penicillium funiculosum and Colletotrichum boninense.
(2006) observed an inhibitory effect of the clove basil extract on the development of
Bipolaris sorokiniana in wheat seeds.
On postoperative day four, three culture reports from the graft came back positive for dematiaceous mold, suggestive of
Bipolaris species.
In children, ABPM is mainly caused by Candida albicans, Curvularia, Pseudallescheria boydii, and
Bipolaris [4].
