BioMedNet

A now-defunct website for the biomedical community which shut down in 2004. BioMedNet provided access to the (US) National Library of Medicine’s database of citations of 3600 journals’ plans, including a patent news service and a macromolecular structures database. BMN offered free MEDLINE1, journals, job postings, HMS Beagle, a webzine with daily news capsules, discussions, an online bookstore, Galapagos, a mouse knockout and mutation database, Swiss-Prot, the protein database, and a database of nearly 4000 websites.
