BDNF

Blood samples were drawn into chilled tubes containing Na2EDTA (1 mg/ml) and aprotinin (500 U/ml) and were used to determine serum BDNF levels.
The discovery of an estrogen response element- (ERE-) like motif in the BDNF gene promotor region provides a possible mechanism through which estradiol is able to directly regulate BDNF expression [10].
Four different approaches were used to block BDNF-TrkB signaling: immunoneutralization of extracellular BDNF using an anti-BDNF blocking antibody ([alpha]-BDNF), scavenging of extracellular BDNF using a TrkB-Fc Chimera, blockade of TrkB receptor using K252a [46], and inhibition of TrkB dependent Src phosphorylation using PP2.
This study was designed to assess, for the first time, the effect of complex sports gestures (acyclic) in a specific sport modality and simple sport gestures (cyclic) on the BDNF blood levels in elite athletes and with respect to sex.
All the participants received two assessments for BDNF level, N400, and Positive and Negative Syndrome Scale (PANSS) score on the 1st day after enrollment and after the 12-week therapy.
In some clinical trials, it has been shown that in patients with MDD, some growth factors (BDNF, vascular growth factor, insulin-like growth factor-1) change both gene expression and peripheral levels, while antidepressants have a normalizing effect (2, 12-14).
Uno de ellos es el factor neurotropico derivado del cerebro (BDNF, por sus siglas en ingles).
