Chinese medicine
A perennial herb, the roots of which are analgesic, diaphoretic, expectorant, secretory and sedative; it is used for arthritis, earache, headache, sinusitis and toothaches. Kakuol is an Asarum sieboldii extract which has been found to have anti-fungal activity.

There is no peer-reviewed data to support the efficacy for A sieboldii as a medical treatment.
