coatomer protein (COP),

two types are found between the transitional endoplasmic reticulum and the trans-Golgi network. Coatomer protein I (or COP-I) functions in retrograde transport from the ERGIC to the transitional endoplasmic reticulum, whereas coatomer protein II (or COP-II) functions in anterograde transport.
