A national organization that offers three specialized certifications for medical coders: that for coders in a physician's office is guaranteed by Certified Professional Coder (CPC), for coding billing for outpatients in a hospital Certified Professional Coder-Hospital (CPC-H), and for payer perspective coding, Certified Professional Coder-Payer (CPC-P).
