Age Specific Death Rate

A mortality rate broken down by age groups, in which the numerator is the number of deaths in that age group, and the denominator is the number of persons in that age group in the population. Age-specific death rates can be used to weigh the consequences of such factors as age-dependent infection, morbidity or mortality rates or age-specific vaccination schedules.
