ATP2B2
ATP2B2
(1) A gene on chromosome 3p25.3 that encodes an enzyme belonging to the family of P-type primary ion transport ATPases, which form an aspartyl phosphate intermediate during the reaction cycle. These ATPases remove bivalent calcium ions from eukaryotic cells against large concentration gradients and play a central role in intracellular calcium homeostasis.

The finding of the other two genes, ATP2B2 and TIAM2, came as a surprise.
The ATP2B2 gene codes for a plasma membrane calcium transporting ATP-ase.
