AKAP14

AKAP14

A gene on chromosome Xq24 that encodes a member of the structurally diverse A-kinase anchor protein (AKAP) family, which binds to the RII regulatory subunit of cAMP-dependent protein kinase A (PKA), confining PKA to discrete locations within the cell. AKAP14 anchors PKA in ciliary axonemes and may play a role in regulating ciliary beat frequency.
