An application of magnetic resonance spectroscopy which is used to detect compounds that reflect cerebral metabolism and utilisation of energy—e.g., high-energy phosphates (ATP), phosphocreatine, inorganic phosphate, and intracerebral pH; the method may be useful in evaluating patients with epilepsy.
