A gene on chromosome 7p11.2 that encodes septin 14, a member of the septin family of nucleotide-binding proteins, which are required for cytokinesis, membrane dynamics, vesicle trafficking, apoptosis and cytoskeleton remodelling, as well as infection, neurodegeneration and neoplasia.
