Zieve's syndrome
Etymology: Leslie Zieve, American physician, b. 1915
a mild spherocytic anemia with transient jaundice and hyperlipidemia found in patients with acute alcoholism and liver cirrhosis.

Zieve's syndrome
a human disease characterized by hemolytic anemia related to a low lipid content of erythrocyte cell membranes; some clinical similarity to hemoglobinuria which occurs in event horses after prolonged exercise.
