Zepp operation

a modification of the lateral ear resection in dogs in which a cartilaginous flap is turned downward and sutured in place as a 'drainboard' at the bottom of the opening created. It serves to reduce the possibility of stricture of the horizontal canal and minimize growth of haircoat at the opening which might impede aeration and drainage.
