Patient discussion about Works (disambiguation).

Q. I doubt whether homoeopathy works for ADHD? I was wondering whether I can try homoeopathy treatment for my son who is diagnosed with ADHD. He is 8 years old and is having hyperactive type of ADHD. All the medicines so far we have tried had shown some side effects in him. I want to give a try with homoeopathy. My wife tried with homoeopathy treatment couple of years back and got cure for her sinus. I doubt whether homoeopathy works for ADHD?

A. that is the key to your answer indridi,,,PHARMACEUTICAL GRADE ALTEWRNATIVE MEDS,...some companys that are not regulated can put any amount of an active compound in an product and say that it works wonders,..I suggest you buy it with an FDA approval on it,that way you know it has been tested,to do what it saids it does,I have no problem with alternative meds-IF-they have been tested by the medical communitie, and are of pharmaceutical grade......mrfoot56...peace

Q. I am interested in information on working with fibromyalgiaI am having problems just coping at home! I have had 2 c-spine surgeries in 2 years, have degenerative disc disease, maigrains with nuurological tendencies, fatigue, deppression and fibromyalgia. I can't stand for long , sit for long, just making it through my daily life is stressful enough how do people manage to work? I have been off since August of last year but wan to feel well enough so I can return to the working world, Any suggestions? Tried Lyrica, doctor took me off the side affects for me were terrible!

A. I had a cervical spinal fusion, C4-5,C5-6 and a SLAP repair of my left shoulder. Initially after the fusion the headaches and tinlging went away and then 4 months later, while in a PT work conditioning prorgam, the headaches returned, along with nausea, vomiting and vertigo. My doctor basically ignored the symptoms for the last 5 months and I was finally referred to a neurologist who is treating me with Lyrica and Imitrex. The side effects are brutal and it has come done to living with the headaches and other symptoms vs. living in a fog unable to function. I have come to realize that there is no magic "fix" and all the meds mask the stymptoms temporarily but it's a tradeoff when you consider the side effects and possible long term health issues from meds such as Lyrica that have no research as far as long term health conditions. I found a natural remedy called Headache Free and I'm giving it a try.....good luck because I know exactly how debilitative these symptoms are

Q. Is it really working? My boyfriend practice Chinese medicine and he always advocate Chinese medicine and brings many examples in which regular medicine failed for many years and one treatment of acupuncture cured the problem. I know it sounds convincing, but maybe these stories are misleading? I find it hard to believe in this meridian thing. It seems just like an old and out-of-date theory. What do you think?

A. As a successful practicing doctor of Chinese medicine I can tell you this: it doesn't matter what a patient believes if the diagnosis and treatment is correct. I treat patients every day who benefit from treatment as seen by objective sign and symptom changes. I am not providing new-age this or that, or ambient music, or BS talk. It's a standardized form of medicine with a complete theory at its foundation. Those who say otherwise are uneducated, inexperienced, and full of empty speculative opinions. This is real clinical experience talking, having worked and practiced in 5 clinics with vastly different patient demographics.
