Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA)
the United States government agency that administers the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970. This act of the United States Congress established minimum health and safety standards for workers and provides for the inspection of places of employment and the penalizing of employers who do not provide conditions that meet the established standards.
