Aetiology A flavivirus closely related to Far Eastern type
Vectors Ixodes ricinus, infected raw milk, especially goat’s milk
(2) Russian tick-borne encephalitis Tick-borne encephalitis, Eastern subtype, a severe form of flavivirus-induced encephalitis
Vectors Ixodes pertulcatus, I ricinus
