[wool′frəm] Etymology: D.J. Wolfram, American physician, 20th century an autosomal-recessive syndrome, first evident in childhood, consisting of diabetes mellitus, diabetes insipidus, optic atrophy, and neural deafness. Also called DIDMOAD syndrome. Wolfram Syndrome An autosomal recessive [MIM 222300] condition characterised by diabetes insipidus, non-autoimmune type 1 diabetes mellitus, optic atrophy, sensorineural deafness and further neurological and endocrinological abnormalities.
