People visiting family and friends in Dewsbury District Hospital and Pinderfields General Hospital, Wakefield, have been temporarily restricted to control the spread of a winter vomiting virus which causes diarrhoea and sickness.
Recent high levels of flu and the winter vomiting virus 'Norovirus' are thought to have contributed significantly to the increase in people seeking emergency services, despite the fact that both conditions only warrant a trip to A&E in the most extreme cases.
Although it's pretty unpleasant, the average person can take a dose of winter vomiting virus in their stride.
