White Strawberry Tongue

tongue (tung) the movable muscular organ on the floor of the mouth; it is the chief organ of taste, and aids in mastication, swallowing, and speech.

Red, congested and oedematous fungiform papillae of the tongue, in a whitish background of filiform papillae. The white strawberry tongue appears between days 2 and 5 of scarlet fever; it may be seen in measles and in other febrile viral enanthemas
