In the medical literature there is at least one well described alcohol related dementia, Wernicke-Korsakoff's syndrome (Victor, Adams, Collins, 1989).
He takes the blame for drinking himself into a rare brain condition known as Wernicke-Korsakoff's syndrome caused by alcohol abuse and treated with thiamine.
