Ranunculus a very large plant genus of family Ranunculaceae; the buttercups. All of them should be regarded as potentially poisonous. The species listed below have been reported as causing poisoning in animals. They contain protoanemonin glycosides which cause abdominal pain, convulsions, stomatitis, diarrhea.
