Viscum album
a plant in the family Loranthaceae. Called also European mistletoe. Contains tyramine and causes incoordination, salivation and pupillary dilatation followed by paralysis and death.

European History of Mistletoe Facts: The first is the European mistletoe, Viscum Album, that grows on a variety of trees; the most popular are the juniper trees and apple trees.
The plant is Viscum album, the most common holiday mistletoe of Europe, and the species that first inspired the tradition of couples sharing a kiss under its evergreen leaves and waxy berries.
It is particularly pleasing that the German licensing authorities (BfArM--the Federal Institute for Drugs and Medical Devices) are represented at the 4th Mistletoe Symposium with a paper on the "Regulatory options for Viscum album preparations" (C.
