An impure dilute solution of acetic acid obtained by fermentation beyond the alcohol stage and used as a preservative.

vinegar (as a solvent),
n a warm, dilute solution of household vinegar; used as a substitute for acetic acid to dissolve accumulated dental calculus from a removable dental prosthesis.

When British TV chef and food historian Alan Coxon set out to make his new line of mostly organic vinegars, he researched old-world recipes and lesser-known heirloom ingredients—and teamed up with fair-trade producers in South Africa.
Vinegars - contains natural acids and a good disinfectant, can be used in almost all of cleaning situations like cutting grease, vinegar wipes and kill molds and mildew etc.
