Voltage-Dependent Anion Channel (VDAC) The most abundant protein in the outer mitochondrial membrane (OMM) is a pore known as the voltage-dependent anion channel, or VDAC (also known as porin).
Application of the described UPLC procedure enabled us to provide direct evidence of the 'recycling' of ATP and ADP inside the mitochondria due to the diffusional restrictions at VDAC located in the mitochondrial outer membrane and along with unrestricted flow-out of PCr from the cells through this channel.
