uremic frost, a pale frostlike deposit of white crystals on the skin caused by kidney failure and uremia. Urea compounds and other waste products of metabolism that cannot be excreted by the kidneys into the urine are excreted through the small superficial capillaries into the skin, where they collect on the surface. Uraemic Frost A clinical finding in severe chronic renal failure, in which the concentration of urea is markedly increased in sweat, causing precipitation of crystallised urea in the skin
