Uncinaria [un′siner′ē·ə] Etymology: L, uncinus, hook a genus of nematode that causes hookworm in dogs, cats, and other carnivores. Uncinaria a genus of canine hookworms in the order Strongylida. Uncinaria criniformis occurs in the badger and fox. Uncinaria lucasi found in the fur seal. Uncinaria stenocephala the common species in the dog, cat and fox.
