Case 5 In April 2003, a 34-year-old woman presented with a 5-month history of Echinococcus granulosus infestation in the posteromedial aspect of the right cruris after a tru-cut biopsy performed in another institution.
Analysis of a Tru-Cut biopsy revealed the presence of an infiltrate of medium- to large-sized lymphoid cells with irregular nuclei and nucleoli.
It has been estimated that the contemporary 18-gauge biopsy needle is only about 36% of the width of the traditional 14-gauge Tru-Cut biopsy needle.
