tonic labyrinthine reflex (TLR) Etymology: Gk, tonikos + labyrinthos, maze; L, reflectere, to bend back a normal postural reflex in animals, abnormally accentuated in decerebrate humans, characterized by extension of all four limbs when the head is positioned in space at an angle above the horizontal in quadripeds or in the neutral erect position in humans.
