tibial crest

a longitudinal prominence on the cranial border of the proximal tibia. Its proximal end (tibial tubercle) has a growth plate separate from the proximal tibia; hyperflexion injuries to the stifle may result in avulsion of this growth plate in dogs, seen in radiographs as a dorsal displacement of the tibial tubercle and patella.

tibial dyschondroplasia

a disease of broiler chickens and turkeys caused by a combination of dietary and genetic factors and characterized by dyschondroplasia in the proximal end of the tibiotarsal bone. In badly affected birds the leg is bowed and pathological fractures occur.

tibial hemimelia

tibial nerve block

injection of an anesthetic agent above the tarsus, in the groove between the gastrocnemius tendon and the deep digital flexor tendon, produces anesthesia of the caudal, lateral and medial surfaces of the tarsus and metatarsus.

tibial nerve injury

results in overflexion of the hock (dropped hock).
