thoracolumbosacral orthosis (TLSO) [thôr′əkōlum′bō sā′krəl] Etymology: Gk, thorax, chest; L, lumbus, loin + sacrum, sacred a spinal orthosis that runs from the thoracic spine caudal to the lumbosacral region and thus limits movement of the thoracic and lumbar spine.
