A tarsal bone, articulating with the intermediate cuneiform, cuboid, and navicular bones and the second, third, and fourth metatarsal bones. Also called third cuneiform bone.

lateral cuneiform bone,
one of the three cuneiform bones of the foot. It is located in the center of the front row of tarsal bones between the intermediate cuneiform bone medially, the cuboid bone laterally, the scaphoid bone posteriorly, and the third metatarsal anteriorly. It also articulates with the second and fourth metatarsals. Also called external cuneiform bone, third cuneiform bone.
