community /com·mu·ni·ty/ (-te) a body of individuals living in a defined area or having a common interest or organization.
biotic community  an assemblage of populations living in a defined area.
therapeutic community  a structured mental treatment center employing group and milieu therapy and encouraging the patient to function within social norms.

therapeutic community (TC),
(in mental health) a treatment facility in which the entire milieu is part of the treatment. The physical environment, the other clients, the staff, and the policies of the facility influence the function of the individual in the activities of daily living in the community. The concept of a therapeutic community is integral to milieu therapy.
