Teardrop Bladder A descriptive term for a distended urinary bladder that is lifted out of the pelvis by an array of extravesical processes—e.g., haematoma, abscess, urinoma, hypertrophy of the iliopsoas muscle, lymphoma, tumour, fibrosis, bilateral iliac aneurysms, occlusion of the vena cava and pelvic lipomatosis; the external pressure narrows the bladder neck into an attenuated ‘stem,’ while a broad base at the bladder’s apex imparts a piriform configuration by excretory urography
