Cestoda /Ces·to·da/ (ses-to´dah) a subclass of Cestoidea comprising the true tapeworms, which have a head (scolex) and segments (proglottides). The adults are endoparasitic in the alimentary tract and associated ducts of various vertebrate hosts; their larvae may be found in various organs and tissues.
