n Latin name: Petiveria alliacea; parts used: whole plant, root; uses: treatment of osteoarthritis and other rheumatic conditions. Also used as antifungal, antispasmodic, antipyretic, immunostimulant, sedative, abortifacient; precautions: pregnancy; individuals with hemophilia, diabetes, and hypoglycemia.
