Spontaneous PTXs are thought to arise from the rupture of a thin-walled subpleural cystic lesion (9), a complication seen infrequently in childhood .
9-cm subpleural nodules in the left lung--one in the anterior lingula and the other in the anterior segment of the upper lobe (figure 2).
On March 23, she had a chest CT scan, which was notable for "indeterminate pulmonary nodules": a 6 mm nodule in right upper lobe; a lobulated 7mm nodule in the right lower lobe; subpleural left apical nodule density; and, tiny subpleural left lower lobe nodular densities.
