structural model,
a model of family therapy that views the family as an open system and identifies subsystems within the family that carry out specific family functions. When faced with demands for change, individual family members, family subsystems, or the family as a whole may respond with growth behaviors or maladaptive behaviors. The goal of family therapy is to help family members learn new scripts or transactional patterns. Want to thank TFD for its existence?
