Etymology: AS, stingan + L, raia, ray-fish
a flat, long-tailed fish bearing barbed spines on its back that are connected to sacs of venom. Spasm of the skeletal muscles, severe local pain, seizures, and dyspnea may occur if a person's skin is broken by the spines. See also sea urchin sting.

It has sand tiger, sting rays, nurse and brown sharks and other big open ocean dwellers.
The Shark Dive at Dubai Aquarium and Underwater Zoo features sand tiger sharks, giant groupers and sting rays as well as thousands of smaller fish species.
Not only were we roaming around the aquarium without the hassle of other visitors, but the manager also allowed us into backrooms where only a few can enjoy the beauty of those little sting rays, not accessible to regular visitors.
