Do acupuncturists sterilize the needles before use (or) use fresh needle for new patient? A. Only experienced and authorized Chinese medical practitioners treat the patients. Improper use of needles may lead to infections and therefore, need to be handled with care and caution. It can lead to fainting in some patients as well. Minor Bruising is possible. Acupuncturists use disposable needles these days which are pre sterilized to avoid the spread of hepatitis and HIV.
