Specialty Registrar

The title accorded to a junior doctor in the UK who was appointed to a training post for a particular specialty on or after August, 2007. The Specialty Registrar track may be bundled with a senior house officer (SHO) year. Specialty Registrar training formats include an integrated academic training pathway, run-through training and uncoupled training.

The expansion of the excellent, new employment support service provided by NWSSP, to include doctors in their third year of GP training and beyond will ensure all GP specialty trainees in Wales enjoy improved contractual arrangements and a consistent single source of advice for any queries relating to their terms and conditions of service.
