In between are the usual suspects--acacia, cholla, a couple of desert willows in the washes, Spanish bayonet and yuccas.
Most yucca plants are stiff and sharp pointed, like the Spanish Bayonet (Yucca aloifolia), while some yuccas have flexable soft leaves, such as Golden Garland Yucca (Yucca flaccida).
Some favored foods include shin dagger, prickly pear, cholla, and Spanish bayonet.
