Comet Assay
A rapid method for detecting DNA damage in individual cells, which is simple and faster than conventional genotoxicity techniques—e.g., cytogenetics. The name derives from use of the tail moment of the electropherogram for evaluating DNA damage, which is defined as the product of the tail length and the fraction of the total DNA content in the tail of the electropherogram
