selegiline /se·le·gil·ine/ (sĕ-lej´ĭ-lēn) an antiparkinsonian agent used as the hydrochloride salt in conjunction with levodopa and carbidopa. selegiline (seˑ·l n an MAO-B inhibitor used to treat Parkinson's disease. It also acts as an antioxidant and an immunostimulant, protects nerve tissue from degeneration, and has positive effects on cognition.
