Health Act flexibilities

A mechanism introduced in the Health Act 1999 (UK), which supports pooled budgets and delegation of functions as standard practice for all health and local authorities in planning, commissioning and delivering intermediate care and community equipment services. In England, Section 31 of the Health Act 1999 was replaced by Section 75 of the National Health Service Act 2006, which consolidated NHS legislation. The new provision is in exactly the same terms, and existing Section 31 arrangements will continue as if made under Section 75.
